OUR EARTH 

Our Earth us the only known planet in the solar system where life is possible. No other planet other than the earth  provides the favourable temperature, atmosphere with gases in just right proportion, proper  percentage division of land and water bodies, the length of the distance from the SUN and lakhs of species found in land, water bodies and those which can fly in air all supporting the existence of one another.

Planets are spherical in shape and not circle (the best example can be that of orange) which is flat at poles. This fact was not known to people in ancient times. They believed that Earth is flat and they might fall if they continuously keep walking from one end to the other.

It was first ARISTOTLE and later COPERNICUS, who declared that the Earth is sphere that too not perfect sphere. It is flat at the Poles and bulges at the Equator. The equatorial diameter is more than its polar diameter.
